e-solutions and awards plus mr . mansoor khan   manager schedules and network planning</Page><Page Number="24">at axact we work to achieve the impossible and to turn corporate dogmas upside down. in that spirit, axact has been working tirelessly to make a science out of the long revered occult practice that is employee performance evaluation. and it makes me extremely proud to tell you that we are almost there. at axact, more than eighty five percent of the employees are evaluated on a quantitative basis, where the evaluation points are awarded almost in real time. yes, you read that right, more than eighty five percent of performance assessments are systemized, by the end of the day the axactian knows how he’ s fared against other axactians on the same job description, and can come back the next morning with a clear target of what it is that he has to achieve in order to stay in the game, or to stay on top, whatever his position may demand. axact’ s performance management philosophy derives from two of our core values. first is our value that we value quality human resource. well, in order to value quality human resource we need to identify that “quality human resource” first. and what is the core criteria to define quality? it comes from our mission statement of course, our undeterred drive to the top. quality human resource is that which contributes qualitatively and quantitatively to our mission. with our mission in mind, strategy is formulated at the business unit level, based on the strategy, tactics are defined for individual business units and this translates into specific targets for axactians working on well defined job descriptions. a clear link is thus established between the mission and the specific targets of each axactian. the target definition is an ongoing exercise at all levels of organization and modern tools of information dissemination are used to ensure that each axactian is aware of his or her targets and responsibilities. it is assured that target definition exercise remains a dialogue between axactians and their reporting authorities, ensuring the practicability of the targets while achieving consensus on them. once the targets are defined and agreed upon, performance assessments can easily be delegated to machines. you turn the work in, you get the points, next morning’ s targets are defined and everybody goes home happy at the end of the day. this general process gets defined in finer details at specific job descriptions, so that you can split all axactians into three groups based on how their performance is evaluated. • for the job descriptions on which quantifiable targets could be defined in real time, such as in sales, targets or benchmarks are set on the basis of past data. factors such as seasonal market variations and axactian’ s level and grade on the corporate ladder are taken into account. once the benchmarks are set, performance is assessed on the basis of how much the axactian can better on the benchmarks defined for his grade. performance assessments are concluded weekly, and bonuses announced. weekly aggregates are considered at the time of biannual evaluations for promotions. • for another set of job descriptions, targets are defined on a relative basis. every week, the top fifty percent win bonuses and their point aggregates are used for biannual promotion assessments. way, high achievers reach for the skies, the spirit of competition is nurtured and axactians continue to raise the bar of performance. • for the less than fifteen percent of axactians in managerial positions, monthly targets are defined through consensus and discussion and at the end of the month, relative performance is evaluated. these performance evaluations are conducted in open meetings where anyone can contribute and comment. the monthly aggregates are used to make biannual assessments for promotion and growth annually. if you are a performer , at axact, rest assured, you will be recognized and rewarded. quantifiable performance assessment, up to four bonuses per annum and more, biannual growth opportunity and continuous recognition make axact’ s performance management system the most advanced system of its kind in the world, and a dream come true for the dedicated, productive professional. still, we are working everyday to improve on the existing system and to make performance evaluation as real time, quantifiable, nuanced and accurate as possible. axact's new performance evaluation philosphy thought corner axactian -
